Hiking Around Ballycastle

The main long-distance route through this area is the Ulster Way, Northern Ireland’s waymarked walking network — the Moyle Way section runs through the Glens and hills around Ballycastle specifically, a 30km (19-mile) waymarked trail between Ballycastle and Glenariff Forest, taking in the fine oak woodland at Breen along the way. A proper walking guide with distances and timings is worth having before you set out, along with tough waterproof boots and proper wet-weather gear; the terrain and weather on these hills can turn quickly.
